Originally a Gothic water castle from late 13th century remodeled in the Renaissance style a further adapted in the Romantic style at the beginning of the 20th century.
Late Gothic a Renaissance interiors, remarkable wall paintings from the 16th century (the Golden Hall). A museum of natural history, an alchemist’s workshop. A uniquely preserved part of peripheral battlements. Also featured is the so-called “Budyně Dragon” (in fact, a crocodile) brought by Jan Zajíc of Haasenburg from his travels in 1518th.
