About Czech Republic
Hrubý Rohozec
Originally a 13-th century Gothic castle remodeled into a Renaissance chateau, later adapted in the early Baroque and Classicist styles. Elements of 19th-century Romanticism are evident especially in the styling of the interiors; there is an adjoining English park.
The historical interiors still feature some of the original furnishings of the Des Fours family (the dining room, library, a chapel); there is an exhibition installed in 20 rooms on the living habits and clothing from the Renaissance to Art Nouveau. The chapel is open for concerts and other special occasions.
