About Czech Republic
Hukvaldy
An extensive ruin of a Gothic castle from the 13th century, expanded during the Renaissance and Baroque eras, currently undergoing large-scale renovations. Below the castle, visitors will find a game reserve dating back to the 16th century.
An exhibition entitled “Execution and Torture Chambers” is open to the public starting in May. There is a Baroque Chapel of St. Andrew. Paret of the palace has been converted into a lookout tower. The village of Hukvaldy was the hometown of composer Leoš Janáček; commemorative plaques are to be found on the school building.
