Zvíkov
A royal chateau founded in the 13th century, reconstructed in the Renaissance style, since the 17th century used as utility building, since the early 19th century already a ruin. Since 1840 gradually reconstructed at the instance of the Schwarzenberg family.
The castle complex – the Royal Palace with an arcade gallery around the courtyard, the cylinder tower Hláska, the Red Tower, the Bulb Tower and the Iron Gate, utility buildings. Interiors decorated with wall paintings (the Chapel of St. Wenceslas, the Hall of Coats, the Wedding Hall, the Knights Hall, the Crown Hall and others). Exposition of the history of the castle, archaeological finds, period movables. A view of the confluence of the rivers Vltava and Otava.
