Balcarka Cave
A two-storey system of caves is created by numerous halls with high chimneys, decorated with various stalactite formations. Archaeological finds of the bones of Pleistocene animals and instruments from the early Stone Age were discovered here.
Bozkovské Dolomite Caves
These caves as the only ones in the Czech Republic arose in limestone and siliceous dolomites. The walls as well as the ceilings are decorated with stalactites of various shapes and colours. Inside the caves is located the largest underground lake in the Czech Republic.
Chýnovská Caves
The cave was discovered already in 1863 and its interior was romantically adjusted. It arose in crystallised limestone and homblende schist measures. The ceilings are decorated with stalactites and other stalactite formations.
Javoříčské Caves
The cave includes sizeable halls, tunnels and abysses, decorated with numerous stalactite forms of various shapes, colours and sizes – from thin straw stalactites to giant stalagmites. The richly decorated “Giants´ Hall” is one of the biggest underground spaces in the Czech republic.
Kateřinská Cave
In this cave is located the largest underground hall in the Czech republic, which is accessible to the public. One of the rarities is the so-called “Little Bamboo Forest” with plenty thin long stalagmites. The main dome is used for organizing concerts due to its perfect acoustics. The skeletons of cave bears were found here.
Caves of Koněprusy
The three-storey cave system in Koněprusy is the largest in the Czech Republic. On the middle floor were found human skeletal remains from the Early Stone Age, on the upper floor a coiners´ forge was hidden in the 15th century.
Mladečské caves
The caves are created by leap tunnels, halls and chimneys. First of all they are important by a number of archaeological finds from the Early Stone Age.
Na Pomezí Caves
This two-storey cave was formed in clean marble. It includes leak tunnels and chimney halls decorated with numerous stalactites, sinter lakes and cave pearls.
Na Špičáku Caves
A large number of inscriptions on the walls and the ceilings of the cave document that the cave has been visited since the Middle Ages (the oldest inscription is dated from the year 1564). Visitors walk through the unique heart-shaped tunnels. The cave is also accessible for the handicapped people. Occasionally concerts of chamber music take place here.
Punkevní Caves
These caves belong to the oldest system of caves in the Czech Republic. Through the caves flows the underground river Punkva. The visitors can admire sizeable, richly decorated halls and go by boats along the river Punkva as far as the Macocha Abyss (138,7 m deep). The Masaryk´s Hall is the most beautiful underground space of the Moravian Karsts.
Sloupsko-Šošůvské Caves
The caves create a system of tunnels and halls with deep abysses. A number of skeleton remains of cave animals as well as tools of the Neanderthals and parts of their sculls were found in the caves. In the Elisabeth’s cave concerts of chamber music take place.
Zbrašovské Aragonite Caves
The caves arose by the hot underground springs and are the only accessible cave of that type in the Czech republic. The rooms are decorated with geyser stalagmites, clusters of crystals and aragonite bush-like formations. Nearby the caves is the deepest abyss in the CR – the Hranická Abyss, partly flooded (the measured depth is 329,5 m).
