The Czech Republic is striving hard to improve transport and accommodation for the physically handicapped and the blind. Across the country the number of railway stations with disabled access is on the up, and every year Czech Railways introduces new trains with special carriages to accommodate wheelchair users.

In many towns and cities such as Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Pilsen, České Budějovice and Ostrava the number of local buses, trams and trolleybuses with disabled access increases every year. Many operators also give handicapped passengers large discounts on tickets.
