HOLIDAYS WITH CHILDREN
A land of endless fairy-tales
There are over two thousand castles, castle ruins, chateaux and fortresses in the Czech Republic. Almost every one of them bears with it a legend, story or tale, and of course, children love such fairy-stories.
Zoos and botanical gardens
Do your children mix up leopards and cheetahs? Unquestionably they would remember both animals better if they saw them with their own eyes. Try an outing to one of the many Czech zoos. Alongside traditional tours, you can also watch the feeding of tigers, leopards, lions, penguins, pelicans and kangaroos, or watch the seals being training or elephants bathing.
History and architecture made fun
Are your children tired of yawn-provoking school lessons or saturated with educational computer programmes? Take them out into the real world, where historic monuments are far from dead artefacts.
Outings in nature
Holidays without excursions are far from the real thing. Take a trip on foot, by car, bus, train or boat, row down one of the many navigable Czech rivers in a canoe, rent a bicycle and head off for a journey of several days sleeping in campsites or simply in the open air.
Bathing
Even though the Czech Republic has no coastline of its own, it offers many possibilities for enjoying the water. The grassy or sandy banks of natural swimming areas, such as the reservoirs of Slapy, Orlík, Lipno or the popular LakeMácha (Máchovo jezero), are inviting places of relaxation.
Museums and galleries from a different angle
Many visitors to the Czech Republic turn their stay into a true marathon of museums and galleries, which Prague has in abundance. But how to get the little ones inside during a holiday!
Planetariums and village museums
Is your child still fresh and active after a long full day? Then this is precisely the right moment to pay a visit to one of the observatories or planetariums found not only in Prague but in a great many other cities. Children can enjoy a range of interesting programmes, and the very atmosphere of the starry heavens almost within reach will be an incomparable experience.
Goodies for both young and old
Good food and drink can make or break a holiday. Nothing, though, in this regard will be lacking for you or your children in the Czech Republic. Not only can you dine well, but for relatively little money.
Low prices and discounts
The Czech Republic offers services of a quality comparable to anywhere in Europe, but often for a much lower price. This is particularly true of accommodation, dining, shopping, entrance fees and public transport. Transport is in fact among the cheapest in all of Europe.
Shopping, toys, gifts
Prague’s shopping possibilities are on a level equivalent to anywhere in Europe, yet at the same time causing relatively little financial pain.
