NATURAL PARKS AND PLACES OF INTEREST
Krkonoše
It extends on an area of the highest mountains of the Czech Republic and includes also a part of their foothills. The southern outskirts of that area and also the famous tourist centres belong to the protected zone of the national park.
Šumava
The National Park extends on the most valuable area of the Šumava Mountains. In the outskirts of the Šumava National Park, a protected landscape area of the same name is located. Area of the national park on 68.520 ha, protected landscape area on 94.480 ha.
České Švýcarsko (Bohemian Switzerland)
The České Švýcarsko national park includes the most valuable part of Labské pískovce (Elbe Sandstones), Jetřichovické stěny (Jetřichovice Walls) and the border area of Děčínské stěny (Decin Walls). To the south and the north-east, the national park is enclosed by the Labské Pískovce Protected Landscape Area, whereas to the east the Lužické hory (Lusatian Mountains) Protected Landscape Area lies adjacent to the park.
Jizerské Hory
Jizerské Mountains are located behind the zone of foothill towns. The southern border of the area is ranged by the towns of Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou and Tanvald. The northern side, a vertical fall of rocky massifs of the Frýdlant gallery into the plain landscape of the Frýdlant Bulge and gradual ascent up to the highest dominant of Smrk in the east. The state border, mainly following the stream of the Jizera River, splits Jizerské Mountains into two parts. The larger part is located in Bohemia, but the highest peak is situated on the High Hill in Poland.
Křivoklátsko
An extensive complex of natural and semi-natural leafy and mixed forests is situated along the central flow of the Berounka River in the regions of Beroun, Kladno, Rakovník, Plzeň – north and Rokycany.
Pálava
The protected landscape area of Pálava extends over the area of the Pavlovské Hills and over part of the riverine forests below the Dolní Novomlýnska Dam in the District of Břeclav.
Podyjí
The national park is located along the central flow of the Dyje River between the towns of Znojmo and Vranov nad Dyjí, close to the border with Austria.
Třeboňsko
A flat fishpond basin, through which flows the Lužnice River.
Bílé Karpaty
The southwest end of the Carpathian Mountain range, which includes the highlands and mountainous areas in the Moravian part of the White Carpathian Mountains in the regions of Zlín, Hodonín and Uherské Hradiště.
