Probably the most characteristic part of the Giant Mountains, Špindlerův Mlýn and Vrchlabí are not just the gates to the land of the legendary Krakonoš, the mysterious ruler of the mountains, but also a paradise of hikers and all sports lovers. The local ski resorts have won their renown for excellent winter skiing conditions, well-maintained slopes and cross-country tracks and perfect snow conditions from the end of November until the end of April.

The Giant Mountains are the ideal place for everyone who enjoys the traditional lifestyle, and natural and honest ambiance of mountain resorts. In summer, when the snow-covered mountain slopes turn into flowing meadows, the mountains become a popular destination for all water sports lovers, who come to the Giant Mountains to enjoy the wild mountain streams. Hiking and cycling enthusiasts may travel through many kilometers of local virgin forests. You can visit the spring of the River Elbe or one of the marvelous Giant Mountains waterfalls. The many other types of available entertainment facilities and activities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas, massage, tennis, golf, horse riding and wellness lessons.

Hostinné – a remarkable gallery of ancient Greek and Roman art situated in the Baroque Franciscan church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. The gallery features copies of ancient sculptures, including the restored copies of many lost or destroyed original sculptures.

Špindlerův Mlýn – the best-known winter sports resort in the Czech Republic, excellent conditions for downhill and cross-country skiing.

Svatý Petr – a skiing resort in the vicinity of Špindlerův Mlýn. Ski-lifts, overnight skiing, snowboard park, illuminated sledging track, skiing schools, ski services, rentals, summer bobsleigh track.

Horní Mísečky - Medvědín – a skiing resort nearby the village of Vítkovice. Fifty kilometers of the best racing and standard cross-country tracks in the Czech Republic, situated at altitudes above 1000 meters. A funicular to Špindlerův Mlýn.

Elbe Valley – a wild, rocky glacial ravine with several waterfalls, one of the most frequented places in the Giant Mountains. Pančava Waterfall is the highest domestic waterfall (250 m).

Elbe Spring – a symbolic spring of the largest Czech river situated at 1386 meters with a concrete curb, the real spring starts slightly higher upstream. The stone wall besides the stream contains 26 heraldic symbols of the towns through which the river flows.

Elbe Reservoir in Špindlerův Mlýn – a water reservoir on the Upper Elbe situated to the south of Špindlerův Mlýn. Built in the years 1910-1916 by the Viennese firm Reidlich and Berger as a protection against floods. The 42-meter dam is built of stone; the above-ground structures are decorated in the Romantic style.

Vrchlabí – the first and northernmost town on the Elbe. The building of a Baroque monastery hosts the Museum of the Giant Mountains, the chateau is surrounded by a romantic English-style park, many nature monuments and observation platforms.

Museum of the Giant Mountains in Vrchlabí – Stone and Life exhibition, a permanent exhibition about the environment of the Giant Mountains. The exhibition tries to show the timeframe and relations between individual environmental aspects.

Žalý Viewing Tower in Benecko – the only stone viewing tower in the Giant Mountains, ordered by Count Jan Harrach in 1892. The tower provides an excellent view of both the Giant Mountains and the surrounding landscape.

Monkey Park in Špindlerův Mlýn – 432-meter long cableway with 32 hurdles and obstacles, situated by the entrance to the summer bobsleigh track. The hurdles and obstacles are suspended among the trees at a height of 3 to 7 meters.
