23rd FIVE - PETALLED ROSE CELEBRATIONS 2009

In Český Krumlov, during the Five-Petalled Rose Celebrations commemorating the one-time rulers of the town, the Lords of Rosenberg (in Czech, “Rožmberk”), the Renaissance period is brought back to life.

In a long term festival´s strategy, the year with "nines" aims to introduce all town historical periods from Gothic to Roccoco.
For three days, Český Krumlov is returned to a time of knights and noble ladies, jugglers and beggars. You can see a historic costumed parade, a gothic tournament "The Division of the Roses", a night torch parade, fireworks, historic markets, music, theater performances etc.
During the week before the festival, there will be series of events devoted to the town´s 700 year anniversary and held in the town.
