A new guided tour at Pilsen’s brewery for those not old enough to drink

Pilsen’s Urquell Brewery introduced a new guided tour for school children called “Brewing – A Successful Czech Industry”.

The new tour allows visitors to learn a little about the wider context of the brewing trade as a celebrated piece of Czech industrial prowess and the role of Pilsen’s Urquell Brewery in the history of beer production.

The program begins with an introduction to the history of brewing in Bohemia at the visitor center and continues in telling the story of the famous Pilsner Urquell brewery at cinema. In the courtyard of the brewery visitors can admire two cultural monuments – the Jubilee gate and the water tower, to which they can look-in.
A part of the tour is related to the history of trades - such as a coopery, to which is devoted a special exhibition. Modes of transport of beer illustrate historical means of transport - a locomotive and a lorry. In the hall of fame there are exposed the greatest treasures from the history of the brewery and at the end of the tour visitors pass through a labyrinth of cellars to a fridge, where an ice was kept throughout the past year.
The program does not contain presentation of beer production process, visit of bottle room and brewing room and tasting of beer.
