A special new map of Prague plots the capital’s film career
A new map will now lead visitors in the footsteps of famous stars, as it features locations where scenes from various well known pictures were shot.
Over the years Prague has become a firm favourite among Western filmmakers. The Czech capital has played itself as well as (more often than not) other cities around the world.
The English-language map covers film locations from the last 20 years. Map in hand, visitors can find the Strahov Monastery where Casino Royale was shot, Nerudova Street which appears in the film Amadeus, and Charles Bridge which witnessed scenes from the film Mission: Impossible. It also leads the way to locations associated with films such as The Illusionist, The Chronicles of Narnia, Van Helsing and Hostel.
Tourists can pick up the map at branches of the Prague Information Service, and it will also be available at travel and film festivals.
