Aréna Karlovy Vary, is a multifunctional exhibition, sports, cultural and congress centre in Karlovy Vary

From May 2009, the new multifunctional exhibition, sport, cultural and congress centre will provide the largest roofed area for organising various kinds of events in Karlovy Vary and its region.

This is one of the most modern areas of its sort in the Czech Republic and thus is important both locally and nationally.

The multifunctional sport and entertainment centre serves for all-purpose special-interest and leisure, active and passive entertainment for the inhabitants of the city and its surrounding area, as well as for visitors, tourists and spa guests. It will operate throughout the year.

The area will comprise the main multi-purpose arena for 6,000 spectators (up to 8,000 during concerts, including floor standing area) connected by a corridor with a training hall, which can also be used for hosting sports events. The playing field (or stage) in both halls can vary in size. Thus, the premises can be adjusted according to the type and extent of the particular event, with the arena also having a telescopic lower row of stands.

The area will offer 3 restaurants (including catering), 6 buffets, a fan shop, 26 skyboxes, fitness centre, whirlpool, meeting saloons, several specially equipped meeting and office rooms, a press centre and other functional rooms, all with above-standard, barrier-free equipment and parking space for several hundred cars. The latest IT and other top technologies, Wi-Fi connection, an internal production studio with professional AV recording and broadcasting in HD format, a central multimedia area, a motivation strip, display screens, and an internal TV circuit (IP-TV), among other things, also will be available.

The opening ceremony for the arena is planned for 1 May 2009 as a part of the opening of the new spa season in Karlovy Vary.
