Baker's Saturday in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm open-air-museum

Baker´s Saturday will attract visitors with competitions for the best bread and rolls as well as the best eater on Saturday 17th July 2010.

The Little Wooden Town will welcome bakery companies, which will present their productions - offering not only "normal" bread, a bread and rolls, as well as pastries and cakes. Bakers will be also engage in competition for the best bread and the best roll. The so called Baker Triathlon will variegate the program with traditional disciplines. Also the competition for the best eater of Walachian Kingdom will go on for the first time.

Visitors of the Baker´s Saturday can engage the competiton through voting coupons, which select the best bakery stall of the Wallachian Kingdom.

A demonstration of the baking of bread will take place in the Walachian Village and in an area of a water mill in the Mill Valley. A choir of Dolní Dunajovice, the brass-band Malá Bečvanka from Dolní Bečva and the army artistic group Ondřáš from Brno will complete the cultural program with their performances.

The Wallachian open-air museum is a museum of timber folk buildings collected in the Wallachian region and moved to a town park and adjusting hillside. It is the oldest as well as the most extensive museum of its kind in central Europe. In 1995 it was proclaimed the national cultural sight. Recently the Wallachain museum is concentrated in three localities – the Little Wooden Town, the Wallachian Village and the Mill Valley; it includes around 120 objects.
