Bernard Grange – Centre for traditional crafts
You can join a new tour of the Centre for traditional crafts at Bernard Grange in Královské Poříčí near Sokolov.
The tour, which focuses on traditional crafts, is called “Homage to crafts” and it includes a visit to a museum and agricultural exhibition. Also available for visitors will be a new information centre and a restaurant with capacity to seat 70 people.
The congenial atmosphere of the restaurant is great for a birthday party, company party, wedding reception, training days, a buffet or any other merry-making. The cuisine is orientated toward old Czech delicacies. As an additional attraction, these events can be accompanied with an archery tournament, a bowling championship in the nearby chateau, or a ride home in an historic automobile. It is also possible to organise “Czech nights”, which include folklore and Czech cuisine.
Many other cultural events are held at the grange. You can take, for example, a sightseeing ride in a horse-drawn wagon around the surrounding area.
There are six workshops currently in operation at Bernard Grange: An original handcraft workshop, scented candles workshop, tailor’s workshop, restorer’s workshop, the magic world of lace, housing accessories and artist’s studio, as well as a confectionery and bakery. The grange sells original local souvenirs made using traditional procedures right in the workshops. It is planned to add additional interesting crafts. In the local workshops, those interested in crafts can try their hand and learn the basics of the craft.
