Biedermeier, Art and Culture in the Czech Lands in 1814 -1848
Visit an exhibition focused on Biedermeier in Czech Lands in Imperial Stable at the Prague Castle opened until 28 September.
The exhibition will introduce artworks from Bohemia and Moravia created in the early 19th century in the unique Biedermeier style. Biedermeier became a life and art style created by the aristocrats and rich bourgeois, which later influenced all social classes. In addition to fine art (Antonín Machek, Vincenc Morstadt, Antonín Mánes, Josef Navrátil), the exhibition will feature all genres of applied art as well. Top-notch artifacts from local and international collections include acclaimed Czech glass and porcelain from this era, fashion, jewelry and furniture.
