Casanova celebration 2009

The chateau in Duchcov is where the legendary seducer Giacomo Casanova spent the final years of his life as librarian; here he wrote the majority of his literary works including his famous memoirs.

Every year, the town of Duchcov holds an annual Casanova celebration with a rich cultural programme in the spirit of the age of the great libertine.

Date of events: June 12 - 13, 2009

The program includes:
opening ceremony, opening of the exhibition "15 years with Casanova", arrival of Giacomo Casanova, Duchcov majorettes, historical soldiery, steam train, music and dance exhibitions.

Exhibition in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute at the Chateau Duchcov
The exhibition presents the phenomenon of family puppet theater, especially through the period decorations and puppets putting to theatrical scenes, which tell the ancient famous and unknown stories.
