A private building structure Cerveny Ujezd Castle was established in 2001 - 2002.
The intention was to build a copy of the historic castle in accordance with traditional craft techniques, but convenient to the modern demands of present.
In the interior of the castle is an extensive museum of the Czech countryside. This permanent exhibit includes 4000 exhibits from all the Czech Republic and neighboring Slovakia and shows everyday rural life in the 17th - early 20th century.
The museum has originals and copies of the typical tools and equipment supplemented with painted folk furniture and workshops of traditional trades.
Some exhibits are also for sale.
The museum also includes antique shop, where except old things you can purchase tickets for a tour and various souvenirs.
Sightseeing tour includes a visit to museums, craft workshops, chapel and the knights hall.
An integral part of the castle complex are extensive gardens and open-air folk museum.
The open-air museum is located in the gardens and, like a museum in the castle, is an example of rural life of past times. You can see here a windmill, a bell tower, a grainery, a wine cellar, a chalet, a charcoal pile or an old lumberjack frame-saw. Most buildings have open interiors with a demonstration of equipment, tools and techniques typical of them.
In the castle complex you can stop for a while and refresh yourselves in different types of interiors such as Restaurant Krcma, Restaurant Zbrojnice or Restaurant Stodola with Old Bohemian dishes and drinks.
