Patria Direct Jizerská 50
The most famous cross-country skiing race in the Czech Republic, and one of the 15 most important long-distance skiing events in the world, as included in the Worldloppet series. A stadium in Bedřichov in the Jizera Mountains will be filled with thousands of enthusiastic runners on skis, who start out the race at 50 or 25 kilometers.

The largest exhibition of Josef Capek offers thousands of artwork
The largest retrospective exhibition of paintings, drawings and illustrations by Josef Capek you can see at the premises of Prague Castle Riding School. The exhibition presents nearly a thousand of Čapek's works as well his unknown artworks.

Twelfth Night concert - dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of F. Chopin
This year it will be two hundred years after the birth of the famous composer Fryderyk Chopin. The concert on the 200th birth anniversary of F. Chopin will be held in Hradec Králové on this Sunday 10th January.

Snow Kingdom 2010
Ski resort Pustevny in Beskydy Mountains will again be adorned with the giant statues of snow and ice. Artists will create their works from the snow cylinders with a diameter and a height of three meters, 22 meters cubic volume and weight of 11 tonnes. Ice sculptures arise from ice blocks weighing up to 700 kilograms per statue. The symposium will begin with preparing snow rollers on 11th January, two days later sculptors will begin their work. The event, which is annually visited by about 20,000 people, will culminate in the ceremonial annunciation of the best works on Sunday 17th January.
