For gastronomic experiences go to the National Agricultural Museum in Prague

In March the National Agricultural Museum in Prague attracts with interesting events, as well as exhibitions, lectures, and permanent exhibitions.

You can look forward to a traditional feast Pig of Letná this Sunday and from 12th March to an unique culinary exhibition Dumpling -Kloss-Knödel or Dumpling´s heaven.

The III. year of the celebration Pig of Letná or Pig-sticking at the muzeum will present examples of the old Czech pig-sticking (samples of cleaning, cutting and processing of the pig) with tasting and sale of meat products, food, delicatessen, wine, etc. Admission to the event is free and it will take place on Sunday, 7th March 2010, from 10 am to 6 pm.

The exhibition of dumplings focuses on the presentation of culinary phenomenon of Bavarian and Czech cuisine - the dumpling and depicts the history of this food in Czech, German and other European environment. A kitchen equipment needed for production of dumplings is presented here. In addition dumplings can be found in many texts and photographs, dumplings are reflected in songs, in literature, in fairy tales and legends. All will be on display in a small hall in the 1st floor of the museum, from 12th March till 30th May 2010.

Until 30th June 2010 you can visit an exhibition The wood in a large hall in the 1st floor, which represents the work of Martin Patřičný, artist working with wood and of his guests. Accompanying program of the exhibition is a competition for great prizes.

A permanent exhibition The tractor involves an unique collection of historic tractors and other agricultural machinery in a modern environment and interactive program for children and adults. Popular exposure is also the Small museum farm in the yard with live demonstrations of plants (mainly crops) and domestic animals.
