Present extensive ruins of Helfštýn Castle were the largest castle in Moravia in former times (the castle was founded in the 13th century, expanded especially throughout the 15th a 16th centuries; abandoned in 1763.)
In 1952 the castle was declared a national cultural monument.
A large area of the castle offers a different genre of cultural programs during the season - historical fencing, theater, music and dance productions.
Location of the castle near Lipník, in the middle of the wooded hills above the valley with the river Bečva, and tourist facilities (restaurants, parking, souvenirs, nearby accommodation) will satisfy even the visitors who love nature, tranquallity and comfort.
