Ignis Brunensis – international firework display competition

As May turns to June, the Moravian metropolis Brno and other sites in Southern Moravia become a traditional and well-established venue for a varied range of cultural and entertainment events and festival activities.

The greatest attraction is traditionally the International Fireworks Competition with music STAROBRNO–IGNIS BRUNENSIS (22 May–5 June). Visitors will have the chance to see a total of 7 fireworks performances accompanied by music in various parts of Brno.

For visitor is also prepared: THEATRE WEEK (15–22 May), MASK CARNIVAL (22 May), MUSEUM NIGHT (16 May), celebrating of 140 YEARS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT in Brno (5–7 June). Historical and contemporary vehicles – including a horse-drawn tram, a steam tram, buses and trolleybuses – will be on show. Historical steam trains, cars and motorcycles can also be seen at TRANSPORT NOSTALGIA (5–7 June), and visitors will be able to see dozens of hot-air balloons at BALLOON JAM fiesta (28–31 May).
