The city information centre in Uherský Brod offers you the opportunity to take newly established guided tours of the Dominican church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This church, connected with a monastery, is one of the largest and oldest sites in the Uherský Brod region. Its rich history, beginning in the early 11th century, is entangled with many legends and interesting historical facts.
Today’s baroque appearance of the church arose from its radical reconstruction in the 17th century, paid for by the countess Eleonora Kounicová (born Dietrichsteinová).
