Infantry Day - BAHNA 2010

The 21st year of the largest joint display of current and historic military technology in Europe, held in the town of Bahna near Strašice during one day.

The Infantry Day is very attractive and much-frequented presentation of the Army of the Czech Republic and of the Club of military history. It is the largest event of its kind in the Czech Republic, which takes place in the area of military training ground at Bahna every year since 1990 and enjoys considerable interest of viewers. The number of viewers increases every year and last year it exceeded 50 thousandth limit.

This 21st year aims to show advanced historical military units of prewar Czechoslovakia Army to the general public, weapon systems and military technology in contemporary Army of the Czech Republic and demonstrate professional setup of our soldiers in practical examples.

There will not be only demonstrations of the Army of the Czech Republic but also demonstrations of the Military Police, air acrobatics and performance of running characteristics of wheel and tracked technology. You will see dramatic demonstrations of exciting and military interesting moments of the Czech history, for example operations of the World War I, operations from 1938, military operations on the Eastern or Western Front or in the area of the Protectorate.

Visitors can enjoy for example a tank T-72 M4C2, a new armoured vehicle Pandur II, Landrover 110 Cowboy, Dingo and Iveco and a helicopter W3A Falcon.

Traditionally, representatives of foreign armies attend this event. Soldiers of the Army of the USA will present a rescue unit, soldiers from Great Britain the known tank Challenger, Austrians the tank Ulan..
