Mníšek pod Brdy Château offers guided tour for blind and deaf-blind

The château in Mníšek pod Brdy has opened new guided tour for blind and deaf-blind. The opening tour took place in August 08, 2008.

Mníšek pod Brdy lies in the foothills of the Brdy highlands, approximately 12 km south of the outskirts of Prague. The guided tour of the château includes 11 historical rooms modelled as if occupied by the lower nobility of the beginning of the 20th century. In addition to the guided tours, the château offers a whole range of other services.

From June 2008, a second guided tour is available at the château that introduces visitors to the rooms in which the last owners of the château lived on a day-to-day basis. The rooms are furnished in such a way as to provide their inhabitants with both comfort as well as the necessary social settings. That life was lived to the fullest is indicated in the bedchamber of the Lord and Lady, as well as in the rooms for children and guests.

A whole range of cultural events take place in the château during the year. Among those that have already become traditions are the Wine Festival, the Easter Merrymaking (always held on the Sunday before Easter Monday), Christmas at the Château, the International Flamenco Festival, and a whole range of staged theatre presentations and concerts during the summer.

Château is open daily from February 02 to December 14, 2008 except Monday from 10.00 AM to 04.00 PM.
