Modern Recreational Area Ještěd

The well-known competition, sports and recreational centre above Liberec offers, in each season of the year, a lot of opportunities for active spending of leisure time.

On the north-eastern slopes of the Ještěd, Černý vrch, Skalka and on the Pláně oriented to the south located are cable ways, ski jumps, downhills and modernized skiing area that will be the scene of World Championship in classical skiing in 2009. Available for the demanding and less advance cyclists is a network of solidified paths. Along the whole length of the range the cycling route leads that begins in the east at Rašovka and continues behind Výpřež in the direction to Křižany. Linking up to it are longer routes, e.g. the round from the Černý vrch via Pláně, the cottage u Šámalů, the spring nad Hlubokou and the Panský Mine back to Horní Hanychov. Refreshment is offered by several tourist cottages – Pláně and the cottage u Šámalů, the pension Onen svět, Ještědka or the Horský hotel Ještěd itself.
