New exhibition hall of the Moravian Tapestry Manufactury

Visitors of the Moravian Tapestry Manufactury can see not only the manufacture of hand-tied and woven carpets and tapestries and renovation of historical tapestries, but also an extended exhibition of ready-made textile works.

There are weaving workshops taking place as well as other activities that help promote the manufacture.

Currently, the extended exhibition contains tapestry cycles called Czech way, Words, Sweet goods and realization by authors: Karel Malich, Michal Rittstein, Ivan Komárek, Margita Titlová, Zorka Ságlová, Ivan Ouhel, Milan Grygar, Ivan Chatrný, Jiří Valoch and others. There are also works made before World War II by authors: Rudolf Schlattauer, Jaro Kučera, Hanuš Schweiger, Eduard Milén, Jožka Baruch, prof. Nožička, arch. Josef Místecký and Ladislav Sutnar.

This year, the Moravian Tapestry Manufactury celebrates its 110th anniversary and has opened a new café in the manufacture area for greater comfort of its visitors.

Restoring of historical tapestries and hand-tied carpets has been a significant activity of the Moravian Tapestry Manufactury for more than fifty years. During this period, many significant historical tapestries from state collections as well as for private collectors were restored. Besides restoring, specialist cleaning of textiles is also performed here.
