New exhibition in the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum in Kuks

From spring 2009 it is possible to visit the new Dittrich Pharmacy exhibition and other displays from the collections of the National Museum in Prague in the manorial estate of Kuks.

This exposure expired towards the end of the year 2008 and it was decided to borrow a larger part to the museum in Kuks.
The main borrowed thing is an equipment of biedermayers´s pharmacies from year 1821, which will become a part of the exhibition "Magic Apothecary". You will find it in the refectory next to the pharmacy functionalist from 1930s. Other exhibits (utensils etc.) have found their place in three rooms on the 1st floor, where linked the exposure opened in 2006.
Historic collection contains a variety of collection items, such as medicaments and products of pharmaceutical industry (6000 registered pieces) and other pharmaceutical containers, including packaging: bags, boxes, labels. In addition, production tools and equipment such as scales and weights balance, mortars, mills, presses, chemical glassware, etc. There is also a collection of photographs, posters, advertising prints, and almost one thousand bookplates of Czech and Slovak pharmacists, sculptures, reliefs, paintings, and diplomas of pharmacists are also represented.
The exposure is completed by 14,306 volumes of books and magazines. It is the largest pharmaceutical historic library in the Czech Republic.
