Nordic Walking is more and more popular

Nordic walking is a normal walking with special sticks. The cradle of this new sport is rightly called Finland.

Nordic walking is a wonderful sport. It was originally used as a summer training of ski runners. It can be made throughout all year, anywhere and in all age groups and performance levels because its sporting level is easy to conform to your own level of sport. In Finland this way of sport use regularly a fifth of all residents.

According to doctors and physical therapists, this manner of walking can have many positive effects on health. People use special sticks and exercise more the upper half of the body in walking. So even more muscles which burn more calories. In normal walking it is 280 calories, while Nordic walking is up about 400 calories.

In the Czech Republic there are several companies offering Nordic Walking courses, fitness walks, trips and various overnight events. Here are some of them:
