Ostravice Golf & Ski Resort
You can visit a new modern sports area, intended for golf and cross-country skiing, situated between Lysá and Smrk, the two highest mountains in the Beskydy mountain range.
The Ostravice Golf Club golf course is 6,500 metres long and was designed by Chris Johnson, who has already designed many golf courses in Europe and Africa. It is a championship, 18-hole, parkland style course with a par 72 rating. The average size of the greens is 650 m2.
The grounds will be extended further with a public 9-hole golf course and main building housing a clubhouse, a covered driving range with a small sports club, and bungalows for accommodation right at the golf course.
Along with the newly built golf grounds, another project has been launched for the creation of a cross-country skiing area, which aims to provide quality training conditions for cross-country skiers. In the area where golf is played from spring to autumn, there is a 3.75 kilometres long and 7.5 kilometres wide cross-country skiing track, with lights and artificial snow-making technology. With the coming of the first frosty days, it is possible to use the maintained track area for both classic and skating styles. The track is suitable for organising contests of the highest category and premises for preparing skis and refreshment are located in the vicinity.
