Pig-sticking at Lada´s region
Set out on a trip for good blood sausage and beer to Lada´s region and celebrate Mardi Gras as it should be.
It will take place in Velké Popovice near Prague on Saturday 13th February 2010 in the morning from 10 am to 3 pm. And because the best drink to pig-sticking delicatessen is beer, it will take place just in the local brewery.
In addition you can see a demonstration of almost forgotten cooper craft, which will perform the Pilsen coopers. You can learn how wooden barrels were formerly produced and enjoy lively folk music of DUO HARHOU (accordion, violin, vocals). The event also involved a popular mascot of the Old Brewery a billy-goat Olda. Throughout the event will be available a goat stand with a variety of Velké Popovice souvenirs.
During this event take advantage of the place and visit guided tour of the brewery. It takes 90 min and includes beer tasting in the original brewhouse from 1928, courtyard of the brewery, new barrier-free Visitors´Center, Kozel gift shop, etc. The extended exhibition will help you get acquainted with the history and the current life of the famous brewery and get familiar with the process of brewing Velkopopovický Kozel beer. The living mascot of the brewery, a billy goat called Olda, is part of the brewery tour.
Entry to pig-sticking is free of charge. From Prague you reach Velké Popovice for about 25 minutes by the highway D1, exit Spořilov.
