Probošt's mechanical crib in Třebechovice under Oreb

Visit a new exhibition "Glamour of the mechanical cribs" which is held in Třebechovice under Oreb - the town of cribs from Nov 27, 2008 - Oct 31, 2009.

This unique mechanical crib was made by Josef Probošt, Josef Kapucián and Josef Friml (the author of the movable mechanism).
The crib is more than 100 years old and is made of wood. It includes more than 2000 carved parts and figures, which are put in motion by small electric motor. Probošt’s mechanical crib was proclaimed the national cultural monument in 1999.

Assignee of the exhibition is Mr. Kamil Andres - the owner of the renovation of the mechanical cribs’ license. At the exhibition there is introduced the mechanical cribs from Rtyně v Podkrkonoší, Hostinné, Vysoké nad Jizerou and from Třebíč. Probošt’s mechanical crib will be untraditionally preexposured during this exhibition.
