Řepora – an open-air museum of Czech village life from the 14th century
The Řepora open-air museum presents to the public Czech folk architecture from the High Middle Ages in the form of replicas of buildings constructed using traditional materials.
In beautiful natural protected area of Prague, between Stodůlky and Řeporyje you can find a historical museum Řepora. This unique historical and ecological project was built sixteen months.
The village is surrounded by a wooden palisade with an entrance gate and towers. Behind the gates there is a gallows peak and pagan cult place with a sacred tree. You can see houses where lived a potter, a blacksmith, a fisherman or a crofter. You will look at a farmhouse with a local tavern and finally, you can visit a chapel and cemetery.
Farm animals such as sheep and goats enlive the village. There are also a few natural lakes in which live many species of fish as well crayfish.
This medieval town is a place where you can learn how to live in the Middle Ages and become acquainted with crafts of our ancestors and old folk customs and habits.
There is a possibility of refreshment at the tavern.
