Rich Christmas and New Year´s program in Velké Karlovice

Visitors of Velké Karlovice in Wallachia can enjoy an exhibition of Nativity scenes, singing round the Christmas tree,traditional crafts and concerts.

The exhibition with Nativity scenes from various materials, mostly wood, takes place until 9 January. The Nativity scene with figures made from sheep's wool is a speciality of this exhibition.

A Christmas exhibition of cupping-glasses of Vsetin and an exhibition of paitings by Ludek Majer runs in near-by Zvonice na Soláni till 16 January 2011.

Lovers of traditional folk production will come into their own on Sunday 19 December. In Zvonice na Soláni there will held Christmas afternoon with traditional crafts.

The second Christmas Day, on 26 December, a choir of Karlovjanky will sing under the Christmas tree at a church in Velké Karlovice. Thereafter, a live Nativity scene will be seen in a new barn at the museum at 5 pm for the first time.

From 27 to 30 December visitors can take a view of a unique wooden Baroque church, which is dedicated to Saint Mary Major, and is ranked among one of the most interesting religious monuments in the region.

On Sunday 2 January 2011, New Year's concert of Zašov choir will take place in a church in Velke Karlovice from 3 pm. Another New Year´s concert will be held in Zvonice on Saturday 8 January, performed by a male choir of St. Hubert from Zábřeh.

In addition to the Christmas and New Year's program in Velké Karlovice you can also use Soláň Ski Resorts, which offer good skiing and a wide range of services for all categories of skiers in the scenic environment of Wallachia. These resorts were formed by unification of two complexes Soláň – Sedlo and Soláň (distanced 1 km from each other). Soláň Ski Resorts are a part of Soláň-Karolinka Skiregion, which provides a common pass for all 3 ski resorts (Soláň-Sedlo, Soláň and Soláň-Karolinka). Visitors can also use a skibus, which connects these 3 resorts.
