Small Advent on the Hamous farm in Zbečno

How people lived in the winter in advent time on the Hamous farm in Zbečno in Central Bohemia. Exhibition of traditional handicrafts and folk traditions.

Accept our invitation to a traditional farmstead with a wooden farmhouse, brick cowsheds, stables, granaries, barns, an outdoor kitchen and tied cottage. The history of the farm is documented back to the late 16th century. See how people once lived, farmed, made things and observed customs.

At one of the oldest folk architecture in Bohemia you can see winter regime with a heat exchanger, in a kitchen and a large room in a tiled stove. You can meet craftsmen with Christmas goods in the building.
On Saturdays after 11 am will be on traditional bread and cakes baking, on Sundays you will see craftsmen in manual wood processing on the farm yard.

The Hamous farm is open to the public during Advent holidays from 9 am to 4 pm in the following days: 5th – 6th, 12th – 13th, 19th – 20th December 2009.
