St Wenceslas - Czech defender of the country
The exhibition St. Wenceslas takeing place in the National Gallery in Prague (Anežský Monastery) was prolonged until 22 3. 2009.
The exhibition on the occasion of the forthcoming anniversary of the birth of St. Wenceslas, a martyr and the patron saint of our nation, aims to acquaint visitors with the development of respect for this best known Czech saints over the centuries as it attempted its components by artists, especially painters and sculptors.
Visitors have the unique opportunity to see precious objects that were hidden for decades in the depositary and which represent the roots, the depth and breadth of the tradition of Saint Wenceslas.
There are exposed to 80 exhibits - paintings, sculptures, liturgical objects, coins, prints and crafts items.
