Summer Shakespeare Festival

The biggest and best known summer theatre festival in the Czech Republic dating from Jun 25 to Sep 8, 2008.

The festival was first held in the 1990s on the initiative of the then president, Václav Havel and concentrates on works by William Shakespeare. The festival's priorities are high production standards and the atmosphere created against the ancient backdrop of several picturesque castles.
