The Janáček Brno festival 2008

The Janáček Brno 2008 festival will take place on 6-17 November 2008 in Brno.

The title of the international festival Janáček Brno 2008 recalls the close relationship the ingenious composer had with the Moravian metropolis – the place Leoš Janáček called home for a substantial part of his life. The festival opens 6 November 2008 with the opera The Cunning Little Vixen, which also had its world premiere in Brno on 6 November 1924. The festival of Janáček’s music ends on 17 November 2008 with a ceremonial closing concert featuring his Glagolitic Mass and a violin concert of the works of Alban Berg.
