The St. Wenceslas Celebrations in Česky Krumlov
An autumn market fair in Česky Krumlov, a feast of good food and drink, street theatre and concerts on the name’s day of St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech Republic.
The 8th annual St. Wenceslas Celebrations will bear in mind of St. Wenceslas who is a patron not only of Bohemia but also of the town Český Krumlov.
This year, the St. Wenceslas Celebrations fall in the year when the 700th anniversary of Český Krumlov is also celebrated. A special book “The Story of the Town Český Krumlov” will be issued. The book will guide its readers through the rich history of the town from its very origins to present time.
A part of St. Wenceslas Celebrations is also the International Folk Festival Český Krumlov now for the third time. It will come alive with music in the historic streets and alleys of the town.
This year’s new of the program will be balloon flights demonstrations. There will not miss traditional songs and dances inspired by the folklore (folklore inspiration, music band which plays Chodsko folk songs in their own and successful way), the popular open-door night of museums and galleries, old Bohemian cuisine and typical St. Wenceslas historic market in the programme.
Václavs and Václavkas will meet at the square to make group picture and will check-in and write their names down to the St.Wenceslas Celebrations Memory Book together with other social and culture life important people joining this year’s festival.
