Tips for interesting outlook-towers in the Czech Republic

From 1800 to 2009 more than 450 observation towers were built in the Czech Republic.

There is a newly opened observation tower in Židlochovice in Brno district. This 18 meters high tower was made of acacia wood, which grows in the locality at each step. The tower has an unusual architectural form. It consists of a spiral staircase wainscot with acacia timbers. The building is reminiscent of the wooden castle tower.
The observation tower offers a view of the surroundings, such as Pálava or on the steaming cooling towers of nuclear power plant in Dukovany in the Třebíč district. Together with the lookout tower there was built a nature trail about Židlochovice history.

The Dancer Lookout-tower in Czech Switzerland
A northernmost observation tower in the Czech Republic is The Dancer lookout-tower, which is located near the village Mikulášovice at an altitude of 598 m above sea level.
