Visit UNESCO sights at the time of Advent
Advent time in Český Krumlov offers a diverse programme.
The square Náměstí Svornosti will come to life with a Christmas fair every weekend during Advent. It offers artisan products and traditional Christmas wares. Various bands such as Lakomá Barka, Kapka and other Krumlov-based musicians will perform on the square throughout the day depending on the weather.
The first Advent Sunday is traditionally the day of lighting up the Christmas tree, accompanied by performances by the municipal singing choir Perchta and student singing choir of the Český Krumlov Grammar School Vagranti.
The following, second Sunday in Advent features concerts, carols and singing under the Christmas tree.
You can send your Christmas wishes via Ježíškova pošta (Father Christmas’Post), which opens on the third Sunday in Advent.
On the last Sunday in Advent, you can sing carols.
A day before Christmas Eve you can see Live Christmas crib performed by the citizens and the town ensembles in the square Náměstí Svornosti.
There is of course even more on the programme.
Exceptional experiences also await you in another town recognised by UNESCO—the historical town of Telč.
There will take place 4 advent concerts, Christmas exhibition of gardeners, Exhibitions of toys the 1920s-1980s and a lot of Christmas sports tournaments.
