Where to go in legal holiday? We have a few tips from all the Czech Republic

28th October – Day of foundation of an independent Czechoslovak state offers unique tips for trips and enjoyable experience throughout the Czech Republic.

Open Day at the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic
A tour on the occasion of the legal holiday on 28th October. During a hourly tour visitors have the opportunity to see the main conference hall, meeting rooms of a committee and other rooms in Smiřický, Sternberg and Thun Palace.
The event takes place: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Open Day at the Senate
A tour on the occasion of the legal holiday on 28th October. Extended sightseeing tour in Kolovrat´s and Wallenstein Palace. In the Wallenstein Palace will join groups, which will accompany guides providing an expert commentary. The guided tour is extended by a reception room of President of the Senate and other interesting rooms. In the Kolovrat´s palace the entrance is free, there will be information boards. The Senate Information Center will be also open, furthermore the Exhibition Hall with an exhibition "History of the Czech transport", and a permanent exhibition of protocol gifts at Trčka gallery.
The event takes place: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Open Day at the Municipal House in Prague
The Prague Municipal House will commemorate the legal holiday on 28th October by a day of open doors, formal concert for the Republic and a night tour.
This building is inextricably linked with the announcement of an independent state in 1918. It was here, where was formed the first center of state power. Also this year, on the day of 91st anniversary, the Municipal House makes accessible its representative rooms to the general public. Visitors will have an unique opportunity to see the Art Nouveau interiors of this national cultural monument. The guided tour will lead all representation rooms of the first floor: through the Smetana Hall, the Confectionery, the Moravian stateroom, the stateroom of Bozena Nemcova, the Gregr hall and the Palacký Hall to the Mayor Hall with an art decoration by Alfons Mucha. To the artists who participated in the decoration of the Municipal House belong: painters Mikolas Ales, Jan Preisler, Karel Špillar, Max Švabinský, František Ženíšek and the others. The building itself is a work of architects Antonin Balšánek and Osvald Polivka.

Pilsen celebrations of the foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic
Pilsen will celebrate the foundation of the independent state for the fourth time this year. On Wednesday, 28 October 2009 will be opened doors to selected tourist destinations and institutions for discounted entrance fee 28,- CZK or free of cost. This year will be also organized tours of the City Hall and the Municipal Meeting House with a guide.
There will be a showcase of a fire equipment in the Petak street from 2:00 pm. New members of the Fire and Rescue Service of Pilsen Region and of Pilsen Municipal Police will take a wow in the T.G. Masaryk Square from 4:00 pm and a memorial assembly will start at the same place from 4.45 pm. The celebration will finish a procession of lights and a festive fireworks.

Last chance to visit Becov nad Teplou castle this year
Last chance to visit the exposure at the castle comes along to the general public from 28th October to 1th November 2009 from 9 am to 4 pm. In the winter months will be open only the first circuit with a shrine of St. Maur, only for pre-booked and confirmed groups.

Peace Mound
A program for the anniversary of founding the Czechoslovakia.
The mound is the most noticeable landmark and natural centre of the Austerlitz (Slavkov) battlefield. In the newly renovated museum beside the mound, visitors can see the unusually conceived multimedia exhibition called the “Battle of Three Emperors. Slavkov / Austerlitz 1805”. The Peace Mound was built to honor the victims of Napoleon's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz (2. 12. 1805) to make a pious "place of light" from the center of the former battleground.
