Red Lion Hotel ****
A four stars hotel situated in an ancient burgher house from the 15th century located
in the historical centre of the city, right on the "Royal Route" in close vicinity of the main entrance gate to Prague Castle. The first written records of the house date back in the 15th century. Well preserved basement rooms are from the Gothic period. Renaissance style is manifested in the the painted beam ceilings in the restaurant and some rooms while the entrance portal is the result of the Baroque reconstruction of the house. Later adaptations brought new architectural elements, among which are quite outstanding the classicist ones. The last reconstruction in 1994-95 in faitfully preserved the historical character of the building and completed them carefully with luxury facilities of modern way of life. The authenticity of history is emphasized also by original period furniture, specially selected for each room.
